Situated on the Normanhurst estate in Catsfield East Sussex this estate lake of around three acres has to been seen to be believed.
The old estate lake is surrounded with trees, has an island in the middle and has a bay just as you enter the water.
The water contains carp over 20lbs, Tench over 8lbs, Perch and Crucians to over 3lbs along with rudd and eels.
Over the last few years there have been several introductions of young fast growing carp to try and suppliment the already well established stocks with the hope of these new fish coming on in years to come to provide some of the larger specimens that used to be resident in the lake.
The original carp stocks have real character as you will be able to see from the pictures in the gallery, there are a handful of carp over the 20lb mark with a large amount of the remaining stock being in the 15-19lb region.
The Tench are also very sought after in the lake and it is not at all unheard of for anglers to catch ten or more specimens during a day with several of those being over the 6lb mark.
This water is only fishable from 4am to 10pm and a day ticket must be obtained by members from a ticket officer in advance of fishing the water that will cost £2 a day for seniors and £1 a day for juniors.
Tickets can be obtained from the following:
SH Tackle - 58 Bohemia Road, St Leonards On Sea, East Sussex, 01424 431583 (7 days per week from 6pm-7pm)
Wobbly Rabbit - 23 Western Road, Bexhill On Sea, East Sussex, 01424 218285 Open 6 Days 9am - 5pm and Fridays 9am-6pm.
Ticket agents will be open to sell tickets at the above times where possible but can not guarantee to always be there at the above times, therefore it is recommended to call beforehand to avoid disappointment.
Only members with the relevant day ticket are able to fish this water.
The reason for members having to obtain a day ticket in addition to their membership is so that the association knows who is fishing the water and how many people are fishing the water at any one time.
Some times if you are lucky enough to have the water to yourself and with there being no roads nearby and no public footpaths you can spend the day fishing without any interuptions at all.
This water is a water that any level of angler can fish with a good chance of having a fish or two.
