Normanhurst Lake

Situated on the Normanhurst estate in Catsfield East Sussex this estate lake of around three acres has to been seen to be believed. The water contains carp to around 27lbs, Tench over 8lbs, Perch and Crucians to over 3lbs along with rudd and eels. In the last few years the water has seen a great increase in the fish weights which appears to be as a result of the weed that has appeared and the clearance of the rhodedenrums from

around the lake.

Over the last few years there have been several introductions of young fast growing carp to try and supplement the already well established stocks with the hope of these new fish coming on in years to come to provide some of the larger specimens that used to be resident in the lake. Some of these carp have already hit the mid 20 mark so hopefully the future is bright for these!!

The original carp stocks have real character as you will be able to see from the pictures in the gallery, there are roughly 15-20 carp over the 20lb mark with a large amount of the remaining stock being in the 15-19lb region.

The Tench are also very sought after in the lake and it is not at all unheard of for anglers to catch ten or more specimens during a day with several of those being over the 6lb mark with the chance of an 8lb beast.

This water is only fishable from 4am to 10pm and is only available to members.

AT PRESENT THIS WATER DOES NOT REQUIRE A DAY TICKET – THIS IS ONLY A TRIAL PERIOD SO DAY TICKETS MAY BE REQUIRED AGAIN AT A LATER DATE.

Sometimes if you are lucky enough to have the water to yourself and with there being no roads nearby and no public footpaths you can spend the day fishing without any interruptions at all.

This water is a water that any level of angler can fish with a good chance of having a fish or two.
